Genesis 12:1-3 Blessed To Be A Blessing Theme      The believer has God’s blessing upon his life. Being blessed of God, the believer, is to also become an instrument of blessing to others.  Scripture Reading      Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:      2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:      3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Relating to the Scripture      Abraham is told to leave his home and the security of his Father’s house, to go to a land that God will show him. He is told by God that he will be blessed and that he will also become a blessing to others.       The way to God’s blessing is a way of faith. There are times when God ask us to do something where we are unable to see the outcome. Abraham was asked to go, but was not shown where at the time of departure.      Our giving is like that. God asks us to give our tithes and offerings, and promises us a blessing. Yet, often we are unable to see anyway in which by our giving, we will still have more after, than before we gave.      Yet for those of us who have trusted God and have been faithful in giving, we see again and again God’s blessings in our lives.      But there is more to this story than just being blessed ourselves. Abraham was told that he would be blessed and would also be a blessing to others.How true this principle is in the area of our giving. Through our financial gifts to the church, the poor are clothed; the hungry are fed; the Gospel is preached; and so much more.      So when we give, we are truly able to give because of God’s blessing in our lives. But, through and because of our giving, we are not only blessed ourselves, but we are a blessing in other peoples lives as well. Offering Admonition/Confession      We are a blessed people. With our giving we acknowledge God’s blessing in our lives by becoming a blessing to thers.
